Derek Hosts Live Miss Great Britain Heat at Maya Nightclub in Central London – A Controversial Evening!

Derek has hosted the Miss Great Britain (Central London Heat) Live at Maya nightclub in London, along with fantastic co-host Alexandra Legouix. The night passed off successfully but with a huge controversial twist with the final winner being disqualified for an alleged dalliance with one of the judges, Max of Big Brother fame.

It is with a public statement that Liz Fuller CEO of Miss Great Britain has taken the decision to disqualify judge and Big Brother star Rex Newmark, after last night it emerged he had previously been romantically linked to Miss Central London Lora Jayne Nuttall.Another judge Julian Bennett is also believed to know Lora.
Last night a photo emerged on Facebook of Rex and Lora romantically entwined dated over a year ago. Consequently, the Miss Great Britain office have taken the immediate decision to strip Lora also of the title and to re-run the Miss Central London heat on May 8th.
Liz wants to apologise to the other contestants, to reassure that a heat will never be fixed or be under suspicion of partiality, influence or unfair voting, whilst she is in charge and has issued this statement to the national press,

‘For Miss Great Britain the oldest beauty pageant in the world and most loved national title to have a future, it must be steered into very different waters than its recent past, and with myself in charge I fully intend for the public to see the difference. I want to apologise to the girls and will make sure a beauty competition run by me will never be unfair or cast under a suspicion of fixing, as some often are.’

Derek Gibbons Designs DVD Presentation For Holiday Inn Through Exposure-4 Media

Derek Gibbons NewMedia have been working with Exposure4 Media to design a brand new DVD experience for the Holiday Inn hotel group, and other premier worldwide hotel and resort chains.

Derek designs the ‘Kiosk-style’ DVD presentation for Windows PC computers, as well as the DVD-Video experience, using SONY Vegas Professional, Adobe CS3 and DVD Architect.

Derek starts presenting on Netplay TV’s “Live Blackjack”

Derek Gibbons has started presenting on Netplay TV’s brand new venture Live Blackjack, available on SKY DIGITAL 848 and the website http://www.liveroulette.com.

Derek sees this as an excellent compliment to his presenting work on The Jewellery Channel;

Derek Gibbons NewMedia Limited have applied for a Dolby Digital licence to distribute DVD and Blu-Ray content with Dolby Digital (2.0) and (5.1) Surround soundtracks.

Derek Gibbons Presented Channel WeDigTV Wins an Academy of Television Arts and Sciences International Emmy Award! – Cannes 2008

The Interactive TV Experience “WeDigTV”, on which Derek is an interactive links presenter, has received the Emmy Award 2008 for Best Interactive Channel. On March 4, 2008 it was announced that WeDigTV had been nominated for an Emmy Award – and the channel won on April 8th 2008.

MIPTV-Cannes, April 8, 2008 — The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced tonight the winners for the International Interactive Emmy® Awards, organized for the third year in a row in Cannes, France in partnership with Reed MIDEM and hosted by British comedian Brian Conley (The Brian Conley Show, Let Me Entertain You).

Scandinavia led the evening with Finland’s children’s program Staraoke winning the Interactive Program category and Sweden’s participation drama The Truth About Marika winning the Interactive TV Service category, while the Interactive Channel award went to the United Kingdom’s WeDigTV.  Complete information on the winners follows this release.
